How the VP brushes differ from one another

Posted by Vanity Planet on May 13, 2016 9:30:00 AM

Let’s be frank – no one has time for a frivolous skincare routine full of gadgets and serums that duplicate functions. In fact, that’s why we designed each of our facial and body brushes to combine multiple purposes and procedures into a single device. Wham, bam -- you’re done! And your skin looks amazing, like whoa amazing.

While our brushes may appear to be similar, each brush comes with a set of attachment heads to specifically pamper different parts of the body and cater to distinct skin needs.  If you’re a fan of Vanity Planet but are uncertain about selecting which brushes are best for you, we’ve created a guideline of what each brush offers and how you can use them to your advantage.

MoxiSpin Brush -- Best for an On-the-Go, Fast-Paced Lifestyle

What It Can Do: If you tend to rack up frequent flyer miles, are looking for an improved post-workout skincare routine, or simply need to revamp the cleansing stage of your skincare routine, then the MoxiSpin is just for you. The compact size and easy-to-hold design of the MoxiSpin make it ideal to fit into carry-on luggage or a gym bag. In fact,  the MoxiSpin combines the function of a loofah, washcloth, and cleansing brush all into one little device but offers an even more thorough cleansing than these products combined --- what’s not to love?

The MoxiSpin comes with three attachment brush heads: the Daily Cleansing Brush, Exfoliating Brush, and Silicone Brush. Have tender, delicate skin? Then the Daily Cleansing Brush’s ultra-soft bristles that are perfect  for you.  But don’t be fooled by the brush’s ultra-soft bristles; our brush packs quite a punch when it comes to kicking dirt and debris to the curb. The Daily Cleansing Brush  thoroughly removes superficial debris from the skin, including dead skin cells, dirt, sweat, and skincare product residue that may be diminishing your complexion.

While the Daily Cleansing Brush removes loose debris from the outer layer of skin, the Exfoliating Brush uses its hygienic and quick-drying bristles to remove more stubborn patches of dried skin and dirt. Better yet, regular exfoliation with this brush head combined with a powerful exfoliating serum can brighten the complexion and even encourage cellular reproduction.

The Final Step in the MoxiSpin cleansing routine, the Silicone Brush is like getting a facial massage and spa-quality facial cleansing, all with one brush head! The silicone bristles lightly tickle and massage the skin while coaxing debris from clogged pores. The Silicone Brush also allows topically-applied products to penetrate the skin more deeply, thus taking full advantage of what both the brush and products have to offer for your skin.

How to Use it To Your Advantage: While each attachment for the MoxiSpin is designed to cleanse the skin, certain heads are more suitable for different skin types and situations. To maximize the benefits of the Daily Cleansing Brush, use it with a gentle facial cleanser and apply the moistened brush to slightly damp skin.

The Exfoliating Brush should be used with an exfoliating serum devoid of jagged particles like nut shells and certain crystals – these may create tears within the skin. Rather, pair the Exfoliating Brush with an exfoliating scrub containing rounded particles and apply to damp skin.

If you are dealing with an episode of dry skin or skin sensitivity, then the delicate bristles of the Silicone Brush can work to mildly unclog the pores and remove debris without inducing further irritation.

For each of the attachment heads, make sure to rinse them with water and soap after use. Attachment heads should be replaced every two to three months. In order to avoid discoloration, remove makeup before using any of the attachment heads. The MoxiSpin handle should also be rinsed off after each use with a mild soap and cloth.

PediSpin -- Best for (You Guessed It!) Your Feet

We love going to the spa for a regular pampering, but unfortunately both our wallets and daily planners don’t agree with us. Unlike other brushes offered by Vanity Planet, the PediSpin is designed to mimic the effects of a luxurious and all-inclusive spa pedicure, all from the comfort of your home. Suitable for both men and women to use, the PediSpin offers a spectacular at-home pedicure that it much more cost-effective and customizable than what you can get at your favorite spa.

The PediSpin comes with four attachment heads: a Hard Bristle Brush, Pumice Stone, Callus Shaver, and Buffing Pad. The Hard Bristle Brush is made of extra-strength Dupont Bristles that remove dirt and other loose debris from the bottom of your feet. To maximize its benefits, use the Hard Bristle Brush with a gentle daily cleanser.

If you have hardened calluses on the skin that just won’t succumb to your most vigorous scrubbing and scraping, don’t fret; the slightly rugged surface of the Pumice Stone loosens hardened calluses on the skin in the blink of an eye. If you’ve neglected your feet for a little too long and your calluses are covered in layers of dead skin cell, all hope may seem to be lost. But do you think we would really hang you to to dry like that? The PediSpin’s Callus Shaver is just the answer to your prayer, what its stainless steel design that smoothly removes dense, toughened calluses. The Callus Shaver also comes with a small tray that collects any shavings, thereby eradicating any mess that you would otherwise have to clean up post-pedicure.

To sand away an loose flakes of skin, just give your soles a few quick rubs with the Buffing Pad, and your skin will be left feeling silky smooth.

How to Use It to Your Advantage: Make sure to clean each attachment head and the handle after every use. We recommend pairing the Hard Bristle Brush with a daily cleanser to maximize its benefits for the skin. If you are using an exfoliating serum, choose one with rounded particles, as those containing jagged particles like nut shells may create micro-tears in the skin. Make sure to replace the brush heads every two to three months.

Pure-Spin.jpg

PureSpin -- Best for Sensitive Skin

You probably have a better chance of finding a needle in a haystack then you do of designing a comprehensive skincare routine for sensitive skin, and that’s precisely the reason why we design the PureSpin. Devoid of abrasive tools or stinging ingredients to purify the skin, the PediSpin’s Gentle Reach Brush is made of ultra-long and ultra-soft bristles that lightly massage the skin. The massage removes dead skin cell build up, excess oils, skincare product residue, and other debris that may be scattered around one’s face. Like many of our other brushes, the Gentle Reach Brush removes complexion-dulling and pore-clogging debris from the skin to promote cellular turnover, limit the likelihood of acne development, and reveal brighter skin.

Do your skin’s needs vary  day by day? Then use the PureSpin’s two-speed settings that you can customize the brush to meet your skin’s needs. Molded into a comfortable and easy-to-hold shape, the PureSpin can be used without worry in slippery locations like the shower and sink. However, be careful not to submerge the PureSpin in water - you may ruin the device and devoid your skin of a much-needed cleansing.

How to Use It to Your Advantage:  For a more thorough cleansing, we recommend pairing a daily cleanser with your PureSpin brush and applying the device to slightly damp skin. The brush head should also be replaced every two to three months, and wash both the handle and attachment head with soap and water after each use.

Spin-for-Perfect-Skin.jpg

Spin for Perfect Skin -- Best for Skin Care Fanatics

How to Use It: The Spin for Perfect Skin was designed to produce the effects of a comprehensive cleansing and exfoliating routine with one simple device by using four attachment heads. Not only can the Spin for Perfect Skin brighten one’s complexion and encourage cellular turnover, but it can also make the skin appear visibly smoother with a more even tone.

Do you have sensitive facial skin that is often dry, itchy, or looks dull? Then the Spin for Perfect Skin Cleansing Brush head can remove the offending complexion-dulling layer of dead skin cells on its surface and make your skin feel and look gorgeous.  The brush is gentle enough that it will not induce further irritation on sensitive skin, but abrasive enough that it can eliminate any debris that loosely coats the skin In short, it strikes the perfect balance between pampering your skin and  A companion piece, the Body Brush head is similar in design to the Cleansing Brush but has a much larger surface area so that the arms, legs, and torso can be cleansed much more speedily than if you were to use a loofah or washcloth. While they offer similar functions, the main difference between the Cleansing Brush and Body Brush and the  Exfoliating Brush head is that the former removes the superficial layer of dead skin so that the later can concentrate on dislodging hard-to-reach and stubbornly-attached dead skin cells.

The body naturally removes some dead skin cells so that younger, healthier cells can grow safely. However, a combination of aging, hormonal fluctuations, and environmental factors can inhibit the skin’s ability to effectively exfoliate itself. The combination of a physical exfoliator and an exfoliative scrub, however, can make up for this lost activity and leave the skin with a more even tone and flawless complexion. So do you really need an exfoliating brush? Heck yes! The Exfoliating Brush’s bristles remove the deeper-seated dead skin cells which otherwise block topically-applied ingredients from reaching the lower layers of  skin. Since this layer of dead skin cells is often rather dull in appearance, its systematic removal can make the skin appear more vibrant and healthy.

The Pumice Stone attachment gently buffs away dead skin on heavily-calloused areas of the feet.

How to Use It to Your Advantage: To maximize the benefits of your Spin for Perfect Skin, we recommend wetting the skin before using each attachment head. The Cleansing Brush and Body Brush work best when paired with mild skin cleansers. Cleansers can be applied either directly to the skin or to the brush head.

With the Exfoliating Brush head, use those serums which contain small, rounded particles and biodegradable microbeads, since jagged particles like nut shells and certain salts may create micro-tears of the skin. The Pumice Stone attachment can be paired with exfoliating serums, but to prevent applied products from staining your Pumice Stone, we recommend using this attachment head directly on damp skin.

All attachments should be rinsed with soap and water after use, as should the handles.  To prevent staining, we recommend removing all makeup before using any of the attachment heads. Brush heads should be routinely replaced every two to three months.
